Western Excelsior manufactures a series of short term Erosion Control Blankets (ECBs) to meet a variety of longevity and performance requirements. Short Term ECBs are ideal for low risk/low gradient installations or areas where vegetation establishes quickly.

All Short Term ECBs are completely degradable, utilizing certified weed-free straw and Rocky Mountain Excelsior as matrix fibers. Excelsior matrix options may be died green for immediate aesthetic appeal. Matrix fibers are mechanically bound to a single net or between two nets. Synthetic photodegradable and biodegradable netting and stitching are available for all of Western Excelsior Short Term ECBs. Utilizing a variety of netting and matrix components allows for intended longevities ranging from ninety days to twelve months. Actual product longevity is dependent on soil and climatic conditions.
